Environmental education
In the context of all activities carried out in El Triunfo, the Quetzal Campaign has special significance because it is the only one that is entirely directed to environmental education, trying to develop awareness in communities about the importance of both conservation and their participation to reach that goal.
During the period the campaign has been implemented, from 2000 to date, several topics have been taught, such as: promoting the pride for the quetzal, appreciation of the Reserve, organic coffee, forest fires, El Triunfo as a natural supplier of water, birds and forest conservation, among others.
The Quetzal Campaign is based on the methodology proposed by RARE Center for Tropical Conservation, which has as its philosophical foundations to inspire people to take pride in the natural assets that make their communities valuable and take action to protect them.
El Triunfo Conservation Fund plays an important role in the financial support and public relations of the Campaign which is currently implemented by CONANP.
