Organic Coffee

 

Coffee production has been an old practice in El Triunfo, and is cultivated in several areas of the Reserve. It is a product of high commercial value that supports the local economy and benefits conservation activities. A shade coffee plantation retains 80% of the flora and fauna of the forest, this production remains a key ally for the conservation of the reserve.

 

There are several types of coffee production, which involve a transformation of the ecosystems, but besides being a challenge is an opportunity for the Reserve's goals because it can promote forms of coffee production less damaging. 

 

These advances are the product of a long process of work of many people, especially, producers of coffee from El Triunfo. For its part, El Fondo de Conservación El Triunfo has joined through specific projects, thanks to financial support several organizations.
