Fund

 

In order to assure the long-term conservation of El Triunfo, the El Triunfo Conservation Fund (FONCET, from its designation in Spanish), was established with the intention of generating the necessary income to assure that all the Reserve's contemplated programs and projects will be able to count on basic operational costs, and that its activities can proceed unimpeded by financial limitations.

 

FONCET's mission is to both conserve the natural resources and promote the social development of the El Triunfo Biosphere Reserve and its region of influence by means of sustained, long-term economic support.

 

Without any doubt, Chiapas is a state filled with natural beauty and rich in natural resources; these riches are at once patrimony of humanity and a source of pride to all Mexicans, and it is our wish that they continue to be so. With this aim, the El Triunfo Conservation Fund is working diligently to accrue the necessary resources to implement conservation projects over the greatest possible area and to begin financing environmental services which will generate better opportunities for the inhabitants of the Reserve and conserve our most valuable natural resources.
